ARTEMIS Liver-Tea: Appearance & taste
One of the main ingredients of any traditional Liver Detox Tea is the Globe Artichoke (Cynara Scolymus). It is mainly grown in the Mediterranean where the flower head is very popular as a healthy vegetable and the leaves have been used for centuries to promote liver health. The more finely chopped the leaves of the Globe Artichoke are the more effective it is, as more active ingredients are released. We chop the Globe Artichoke as finely as possible and this has led to a few inquiries about the appearance of the tea.
Please rest assured we have not put carpet dust or weevils in your tea! Neither has it gone mouldy or gone off this is simply how the Globe Artichoke looks when chopped finely.
You may also notice that the fine, almost wool-like leaves tend to stick to the paper bag lining. This is completely normal and does not indicate any problem with the quality of the tea.
The appearance of the Globe Artichoke coupled with the bitter taste of a traditional Liver Detox Tea, may sometimes lead people to believe that there must be something wrong with it. The Globe Artichoke naturally tastes bitter and it is this bitterness which prompts the responses in the liver. In fact, the more bitter you find the tea to begin with, the more your liver needs it! Habitual drinkers will testify that it tastes better the more you drink it as your liver experiences the benefits.
